My Story

Meet Hawkeye! Hawkeye is an extremely sweet, affectionate young cat. He is estimated to be about one year old. He is good with other cats and dogs. He loves to snuggle, and sleep with you (excellent bed warmer). His only naughty habit is that he will get into any food you leave out in the open. To be fair, Hawkeye was found abandoned in the woods and he was starving and emaciated. He’s a good weight now, but his brain still thinks he needs lots more food! Poor guy. Good thing he’s adorable and sweet :-) **Important: Indigo Rescue adopts cats to indoor-only homes or homes with catios. We do this for the safety and longevity of the cats and we hope that our community will learn from our example. Outdoor cats or indoor/outdoor cats fall victim to many predators, including coyotes, eagles, hawks, owls, and even loose neighborhood dogs. They can be hit by cars, poisoned, or trapped and taken away by people who don’t like cats trespassing on their property. They can also spread diseases such as feline leukemia and FIV, neither of which are treatable. Cats live a very long, enriched life with a companion kitty as a playmate, a few toys and a cat tree. Please consider re-thinking your cats lives. Thank you!! **Please note: Indigo rescue only adopts to homes within 30 miles of Beaverton, Oregon. The first part of our process is to have you complete our online adoption application. This helps us make compatible matches. You can find the application on our Indigorescue.org website under the adoption tab. We’ll get back to you from there to hopefully arrange a meet for you.
