If you’ve ever owned a tortie-colored cat, you know all about Tortitude™? (tortie attitude). 4 year old Hanje is a petite gal with a lot of personality and is ready to find her humans who will accept her quirky self! Hanje was surrendered to our shelter when her owner could no longer care for her. She’s a unique lil thing — you might notice her right eye is a bit cloudy. According to the vet, she was ~born this way~ and it doesn’t affect her. She’s also FIV+, which is an incredibly common disease in which most infected cats can live a normal lifespan. However, since FIV can be spread to other cats via bites, we recommend she go to a home without cats (or go to a home with other FIV+ cats) to reduce the risk of transmission. One of our volunteers has been fostering lil Hanje and has discovered many insights into her personality. She said Hanje loves playing, exploring, and looking out the window. Hanje also prefers to be pet on the top of her head in limited amounts and doesn’t like to be picked up, so she might not do well in a home with small children who can’t resist her needs for personal space.
