Sweet peppers, Habanero and Serrano are still hoping for a forever home. Over half the peppers have been adopted, but a few of these gems remain. Their foster mom can’t imagine why! These kids came from a harsh situation: dropped at a shelter haphazardly, all underweight, separated from their bio-moms, tossed together by chance. But they’ve all grown into such loving, happy kids.
Habanero is a squeaky wheel, rolling around the house and catio, letting her feelings be known, demanding attention when she’s in the mood, chattering at birds and lizards, and happily sporting a collar declaring she’s a “cutie.”
Habanero takes some time to trust new people, but once she identifies you as a person worth loving, she will give you all you can handle. She’ll even pre-warm your sleep socks with snuggles before you put them on, so your feet can be toasty come bedtime. Such a sweetheart!
Sweet, sunny Habanero. This gal has moxie for days. She speaks her mind, and knows what she wants—or doesn’t want, as the case may be. If she’s not in the mood to play, she will let the other cats know. You can hear her lecturing them from across the house and, usually, if you go investigate, you’ll find Poblano scampering off to find another playmate, while Hobbs stands her ground. She’s an opinionated little gal, and that’s a big part of her charm. When it’s her opinion that you need to give her attention, she’ll let you know, as well!
If you’re someone who loves to be lectured for love by squeaky little tabbies, Habanero is your gal!
Habanero—affectionately known as Hobbs or Squeaks around her foster home—is a lovely girl with a heart of gold and an energetic nature. She can entertain herself for hours with toys, a view of some birds, or a nice hiding spot to curl up in. She and Poblano wrestle and chase each other around, but when it comes to downtime, they’re happy to sit with you while you watch movies or play games. She’s recently shown an interest in action movies, as well, sitting attentively in front of the screen while car chases whizz by and explosions plume into the sky. Like Poblano, she’s skittish at first, but gives all the love in the world once she’s comfortable.
When you do bring me home, make a "safe" room for me while I get used to the smells and sounds of my new home. I'll adjust better this way! This will also give me a "safe" place to go if I get scared.
