Obviously GROUCHO got his name because of the patch of black fur directly under his nose. This marking makes him look like the comedian Groucho Marx from the 1940's. Just as Groucho Marx sported a tuxedo during much of his career, Groucho the cat sports a permanent tuxedo. Groucho's tuxedo always looks impeccable; therefore, you know that he grooms himself with the pride of a stately gentleman. His soft silky fur is the result of his great grooming skills.
Groucho was recently returned to the shelter because he was not comfortable with young children; therefore, we believe he would be happier in a home with adults. His previous owner mentioned that he would become aggressive at times. Since he has been back at the shelter, we have not seen this aggressive nature. In fact, he seems to be the calming force when things are hectic all around him. He is often found sunning himself in a state of pure contentment.
Generally you expect a man in a tuxedo to be a gentleman, and Groucho does not disappoint. When you first meet him, he will greet you with "goo-goo" eyes and plant soft nose kisses on you. Groucho is ready for his new home. How about coming to meet him?
Groucho is waiting to meet you at Nature's Pet in Murrayhill. Please come by soon to see this great cat!
