Girly

Girly arrived at a shelter after her owner passed away, underweight and anemic - and none too happy about being confined to a small living space! Despite her appearance of ingratitude at shelter staff who stood by her and maybe risked a few exercises in Red Cross First AID, Girly steadily gained weight. Once she was back in good health, the shelter reached out for a foster home to take her in and give her the space to run and climb that Girly so desperately wanted. Lucky for her, a kind, cat loving foster mom took her in. Girly took no time settling into her foster home and getting acquainted with the resident cat. Girly is a very beautiful cat who is smart and outgoing. She is easy to take care of and surprisingly low maintenance. She does very well with people and shows no anxiety around new people or cats. She approaches them with no hesitation and gets along with everyone. She is mildly reactive and prefers to let you know when she wants a head scratch. She’s a big foodie and always hungry! She will let you know what time to get up and feed her. She will dig through the trash if there’s food. She’s also very affectionate. She may have been the only cat because she doesn’t totally understand playing with other cats but she has no aggression and always means well. Because she is laid back, she does very well as a solitary cat but is outgoing and can also assimilate into a multi pet household. But probably is best for her to be able to have some quiet space available for her each day. She’s a clean cat, doesn’t make a mess and uses the litter box perfectly. She needs play time and some personal attention but no more than any other cat. She scratches furniture but loves cardboard scratchers. She doesn’t like her nails cut or teeth cleaned so it helps to have a second person in the home to help with those tasks.
