My Story

In May we worked with Angie who runs Flight Angels of Roatan, Honduras and she paired us with two kittens from their organization that needed rescue! These babies were born in Roatan Honduras and luckily found their way into the Flight Angels rescue! The only way that cats find forever homes in Roatan is if they are able to fly to different countries and find families to adopt them! There was a travel nurse that was flying from Roatan to Louisville and agreed to transport Shasta and Ginger Ale! We met the nurse and her husband at the Louisville Airport at 1:00 am in the morning to meet our newest members of the Blue Ridge Animal Rescue Family! The kittens have gone through quarantine here and are now ready to find their Forever Families! Shasta and Ginger Ale are beautiful white and orange cats. They are about 20 weeks of age and fully vetted! They are typical Honduran cats, slender with a little larger sized ear. They are short hair and should be a small/medium size when grown. We would love to see them adopted together as they have made this international journey side by side but they are also find to adopt singly! They would do fine with other dogs or cats in the home. Both girls are very friendly, nice to handle and have lovely temperaments! They are litter box trained and are fun and playful girls! If you would like to adopt or have additional questions, please email us at [email protected]. There is an application process.
