Gertrude came to our shelter when her owner died. Sadly, she was neglected for most of her life and NEVER went to a vet!!
Shortly after arriving at our shelter, Gertrude was brought to the vet for spay surgery. Thank goodness our doc was able to fit her in swiftly- Gertrude was suffering from pyometra- an infection in her uterus that could have been deadly if left any longer!
Gertrude had a tough recovery from the anesthesia and the infection, but after a month in foster care she is READY for her happily ever after. Gertie gets along fine with other cats but would love to be the one and only princess. She would be a perfect family or first time kitty. She does NOT like dogs!
Gertrude is about 8-10 years old (maybe a bit younger). She is spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, feline leukemia/FIV negative, and is current on flea/tick preventative.
