My Story

Frosty is a senior cat that spent his life outside. He was trapped and brought to Precious Paws. He is basically blind in one eye, but he has adapted well. He did test positive for FIV and is currently living with another FIV positive cat. Frosty is not a lap cat, he would like a quiet home with lots of soft beds to sleep on and a window to watch the birds. He does chirp to try to call them to him. If you have a chill cat that could deal with a grumpy old man or want to give a senior boy a home, send us a message. There is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans, as long as they are not also infected with feline leukemia virus. Transmission for FIV is through bite wounds from an infected cat. Casual, non-aggressive contact, such as sharing water bowls or mutual grooming, does not appear to be an efficient route of spreading the virus. As a result, cats in households with stable social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of acquiring FIV infections.
