Frank is FIV+

Frank is a special kitty who needs a special home. This handsome, blue-eyed boy is about two years old. He came to us from one of the most overcrowded shelters in metro Atlanta. The staff reached out to us because Frank was in dire need of both medical treatment and TLC. He was filthy, flea-ridden and had what at first appeared to be a large mass inside his mouth. The photo in the comments below shows what Frank looked like when he came to us. His mouth was gaping open, making it difficult for him to eat and he was pretty miserable. After close examination, our vet determined that Frank’s problem was actually not a mass but a degloving injury where his bottom lip had somehow been peeled away from his gums. The injury was surgically repaired and Frank is looking and feeling much better now. Frank has one other medical issue that seems like a big deal but it’s really not. He tested positive for FIV. Frank is quite healthy overall and he very well may live a normal lifespan. He is a magnificent boy and we are hoping that someone will see past his slightly imperfect features and appreciate the many wonderful qualities he exhibits. Frank is one of the most mellow cats we’ve ever cared for. He is relaxed and mellow and highly social. He isn’t phased by dogs, large or small. We have not exposed him to other kitties yet but he would likely get along with other cats just fine. Frank is an incredible boy and someone is going to enjoy his company so much.
