The poet William Blake wrote, “The moon, like a flower in heaven’s high bower, with silent delight sits and smiles on the night.” I’m a 2-year-old, all-black female cat who was found as a pregnant stray in Lanesboro on March 16. I gave birth to my little “full moon” kittens in a foster home on March 31. The Flower Moon, for which I am named, occurs every May. Unlike the moon the poet wrote about, I am not silent! I’m quite chatty, and I have a loud meow and purr. I love people and attention. You’ll love my cute face with my two “fangs" and little stubby ears. I love rolling around while getting rubs and scratches, and I like scratch posts, so please, have a few around the house to spare the furniture! I wasn’t especially playful while in my foster home, at least not until the laser light came out! I’ve been a wonderful mama to my babies, and now I’m ready to be someone’s baby too! I think I deserve some pampering too! I hope you’ll be mooning over me when I go home to be your lovely Flower Moon.
