Happy Summer! Kitten Season is in full swing again and we need to make room to get Moms and kittens (and older kitties too!) so we can get them fixed and find them homes! Please consider adopting- especially some of our older residents! Remember you save TWO cats lives and make countless more cats & kittens lives better by adopting! Flash is a long haired, brown tabby female, up to date on her shots, around 3 years old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Northwest Indiana! Have you been to the zoo and seen the snow leopards? They are pretty cute, right? Have you wished you could take one home? You wish! They are wild animals, so you can't have one. But much like MiniPanthers (which are black kitties), I'm like a mini snow leopard and you can take me home! I was found outside when I was younger and brought to the shelter. I was very shy when I first got to the shelter and just kept to myself. The nice people at the shelter gave me time to go at my own pace and now I'm much more confident and outgoing! I really love pets now! I love to play too! I'll even give you a little meow ( I mean roar) when I really love pets! My coat is very soft and I like to be brushed, I'm pretty sure you couldn't brush a snow leopard, but I looooove it! Oh! I love wet kitty food too! I will need a home that will take the time to let me warm up to my new home. I might be a little shy at first but give me a little time and I promise you it will be worth it! I've been at the shelter awhile but I want the chance to be a kittie and have the space to play and get pets and love, like all the other kitties. I can't wait for my next adventure! So come meet me at the shelter! I stalk the mountains of the free roaming cat room at the shelter and I might be a little elusive but hopefully we can meet! I get along with the other kitties, so I would be good friend to your kitties too (with the proper introduction) Your kitty will help me feel more comfortable in my new home too! Our fosters & volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to get them used to being pet and to show them no one will hurt them. However, when they go to a new home, some kitties will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months.
