Hey, Hey, Hey It’s Fat Alberta. And she's DECLAWED!
Fat Alberta was dropped off at Petsmart in the middle of the night. She’s lucky a foster had room for her or the outcome could have been much different. Fat Alberta is an interesting gal and has a quirky personality.
It seems she had never lived with other animals before so she got really crabby when I introduced her to my other cats and dogs. After about two weeks of gradual introduction she is starting to accept the fact that they aren’t going to go away. She now free roams my room at night with three dogs and doesn’t mind one bit. Cats are a different story. She is still wary of cats but we are working with her on it and she is slowly starting to accept them. She should probably still be an only cat. She is a talker. If you meow at her she will meow right back. Being a talker means you will also get to hear a variety of different sounds from her. Hisses, grumbles, growls, meows, and some other weird sounds you don’t expect to hear from a cat. She also likes to lick. She will lick your hand, face, arm…basically anything she can get a hold of. Fat Alberta loves little toy balls that she can carry around with her. I go to work with no toys on my bed and come home to 10 toys on the bed. She will also chase them if you throw them for her. She could probably learn to play fetch if you worked with her on it. She is a bed HOG!! She tries to take up all the bed and steal the covers at night. She absolutely refuses to sleep anywhere but at the head of the bed by the pillows (she will try to steal your pillow if you don’t watch out!). She can get grouchy every now and then (when you make her do something she doesn’t want to do) so we think it would be best if she wasn’t adopted to a home with small children.
Basically Fat Alberta is a slow gal. She would like all changes and introductions to be as slow as possible. Fat Alberta isn’t the kind of cat you can take home and expect to be a social butterfly right away. She may take time to get use to you and trust you. Once she trusts you she is like a Velcro kitty. She will never be far from your side and wants to cuddle all the time. If you are willing to give Fat Alberta a couple of weeks you won’t be disappointed. She is a sweet gal that will melt your heart.
Fat Alberta is declawed, spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. She is a young cat. Probably around 2-3 years. Her adoption fee is $85.
