Happy Summer! Kitten Season is in full swing again and we need to make room to get Moms and kittens (and older kitties too!) so we can get them fixed and find them homes! Please consider adopting- especially some of our older residents! Remember you save TWO cats lives and make countless more cats & kittens lives better by adopting! When you adopt one cat, it makes room to save another! Win! Win! The kitties thank you too! This is FANCY! Fancy is a domestic short haired calico spayed female, up to date on her shots, around 3 years old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Highland Northwest Indiana! Hi! I'm a sweet calico girl who was trying to survive outside during the Winter and Spring. Somehow I hit the kitty lottery and a person decided to help me! A nice person noticed me struggling outside and got me to the shelter. No one knew at the time that I was going to be a mom, but once I started eating regularly again you could tell. I was getting close to having my kittens and suddenly I lost them! Maybe because of poor nutrition or just all the stress of trying to survive outside, my kittens passed while they were still inside of me and one wouldn't come out. I had to have emergency spay surgery or I could have died. I had the surgery and I'm totally fine now. It makes me sad my kittens didn't make it, but I'm glad they didn't have to suffer outside like I had to and like so many kittens do. I feel so thankful for the people at the shelter that helped me live and recover. I know I survived so I could tell everyone, PLEASE spay and neuter your pets! Also, please help cats & kittens living outside and get them fixed too. Also, fostering kittens and older cats that need some more attention, saves lives! It's so important because all rescues and shelters always need more help. You really would be saving lives and helping to put an end to so much suffering by helping! I have been down but I REALLY want my own home and someone (or a family) to love me. I'm not a kitten, but I have a lot of love to give. I still like to play too! I want to catch up on all the play time I lost out on because I was outside just surviving when I was a kitten. I wish my kittens could have gotten homes too but I'll never forget them. I might need a little patience and time to get used to a new home, but I think I might feel right at home with a family or person who wants a kitty to love. I love wet kitty food too, so that might help too! Id love to eat dinner with you every night and bond. Come see me at PetSmart in Schereville! I like other kitties so a home with another kitty (with the proper introduction) would be good. However, probably NO dogs. I'm a sweet kitty, so older kids might be okay. Our fosters & volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to get them used to being pet and to show them they are safe. However, when they go to a new home, some kitties will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months.
