Everest is a fun, playful boy who quite literally wears his heart on his sleeve, or technically his back! His heart shaped spots are perfect because Everest is an incredibly loving kitten. He loves cuddles, belly rubs, being held, and chasing feet as they move under blankets, he is also quite a "purr machine". Everest also loves to play! He enjoys chasing the feather dancer toy, wrestling with his litter mates, running through tunnels, and as his name would suggests, being up high. Everest can often be found at the top of the cat tree or on the window seat watching the birds. If the other kittens aren't in the mood to play, Everest is perfectly happy finding a mouse toy and entertaining himself. He is very social and would likely do well with children.
Everest will need to go to a home that either already has a young, playful cat, or be adopted with another kitten. He would love to be adopted with one of his siblings, or friends: Fuji, Shasta, Topaz, or Celeste.
Currently in foster care in Costa Mesa. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.
All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.
We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.
We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.
When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.
If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
