Hello, my name is Eros! I came with 4 others to my foster home, after being trapped in a trailer park as a young scared stray. I was nicknamed chicken, because I was the most scared of them all! I hid and ran at any movement or any noise, because that's all I grew up knowing to do, for my safety. But my foster mom did not give up on me; she kept telling me it was okay, that I was finally safe. She continually pet me and gave me treats and, slowly over time, I realized that her touch was safe, and, in face, that I quite enjoyed it! I didn't want her to stop so I'd grab her hands and pull her hand back to me and make her keep loving me, while I'd kiss her, purred, and made air biscuits to let her know I enjoyed it! For a long while I'd make her come to me in my safety spot, but finally I felt comfortable enough to go to her and ask her for love. I do still startle easily, some habits are hard to break, but I have no mean bone in my body towards people! I don't hiss or bite, I just get shy. However, if I retreat to a safety spot you can still give me all the loves and I will gladly accept them. It may take me a while to learn to trust you, like it did for my foster mom, but I am a really sweet boy! I love to explore on my time and I love to play with other kitties after we have had time to become acquainted. I've currently got 3 foster roommates and I play with all of them!
