Ernest ate a latex glove sometime in the weeks before he came to CCCR. This glove created a massive obstruction in his stomach, and as the glove was broken down by his body, it created further obstructions in multiple places in his small instestine.
This obstruction went undetected until Ernest threw up a finger of the glove Friday afternoon. Rushed to the vet, Ernest underwent emergency surgery the night of January 22 to remove all the pieces of glove from his digestive track. He will remain in the hospital until the doctors are sure that he is recovering well and not experiencing any complications.
CCCR is a new rescue, and has very little funds for such emergencies. Our non-profit status is still in the application stages, so any donations are not tax deductable.
