My Story

Enzo is a sweet boy who has been enjoying life off the streets in his foster home in Queens since May 2023. He seeks human attention, doesn't mind being picked up, and even will jump onto your lap and "make biscuits" while purring. Based on the veterinarian's estimate, he is 9 years old. He's 11 pounds, muscular and energetic. He loves to chase wand toys. I think he would like to live with other friendly cats but also would not be miserable as a single cat. He does not initiate aggression with the other resident cat in his foster home; they generally give each other their personal space. He got a short haircut this summer. He is well behaved during grooming and bathing, even seems to enjoy it to an extent--but you don't have to bathe him if you don't choose to. Aside from his FIV status, he's very healthy. He's neutered and free of parasites. He can jump to high ledges; likes to have a perch, like most cats. He even recently demonstrated his excellent ability as a mouser (see photo) when (to foster mom's horror) an unlucky rodent found its way into Enzo's foster home. Enzo is FIV positive and FeLV negative. You don't have to definitively commit: He can go to a good home on a foster basis, and if you decide it's not working out, we will of course take him back--a foster-to-adopt arrangement. He will likely win your heart Enzo is FIV positive and FeLV negative. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a lentivirus, like HIV, that affects cats around the world. FIV is only contagious among cats and difficult to transmit. It is also slow-acting, so cats generally do not show any symptoms until years after being infected. The amount of time it takes for the virus to make a cat become immune compromised can vary, but once symptomatic, FIV positive cats are more vulnerable to contracting other diseases. However, with the proper care, FIV positive cats can live healthy, happy lives. To apply for Enzo, email [email protected]
