My Story

Emmy Lou looks great now, but when she came to us she was a terrible sight. She was so flea infested that she was anemic and her fur was thin and matted. She is now in great physical health for a 16+ year old cat, but she has some mental deficiencies, as is sometimes common in old age. She often looks at you as though she is seeing you for the first time. She loves to be petted and will often come to you for attention, but in a hazy moment may hiss at you or growl. It doesn't seem to mean anything and in a few moments she forgot what the fuss was about. If you have ever cared for a family member with alzheimers, you may recognize some of these behaviors. She simply needs a nice quiet home to live out her life which may be anywhere from a few months to a few years. As I said, she is physically in very good shape. She has good litter box habits, as well. She prefers to be an only cat, but would be fine if she has her own room. If you have a soft spot for seniors or himmys, you may be the right home for Emmylou. Her adoption fee will be waived, but a donation toward her vet bills would be greatly appreciated.
