Emmie

Emmie, a chatty girl with a big personality, is one of our resident "crankypants" cats, meaning she can be picky about which people she likes. Emmie can also be temperamental, but it could also partly due to the stress of the shelter environment. She needs a home with adopters that understand cat body language and can tell when Emmie's feeling grumpy. A lot of the time, she is looking for attention and follows her favorite people around. When her favorite person holds her, she purrs, chirps, and kneads! She is fine around other cats if they can all mind their business and coexist. No dogs or kids. Part of her problem could be that she, like many cats, just doesn't like the shelter environment. There are different people and cats coming in and out all the time. That can be stressful! Sometimes cats can really change in a different place, so she needs that special person to take her home and give her a chance, the kind of person that might have to accept a few swipes while teaching Emmie that they won't take her baloney!
