Meet Abby and Ellie: The Fluffiest, Most Loving Sisters!
Birthdate: 3/29/24
Breed: Gray and White Bicolor Cuties
Coats: Ellie - Fluffy, Abby - Even Fluffier
Personality: Snuggle Bugs, Affectionate, Playful
Abby and Ellie are the last two adorable kittens from their litter, eagerly waiting for a forever home where they can stay together. These bonded sisters have been inseparable from day one, snuggling up with each other and anyone willing to give them love.
Their Story: Born into the loving care of Animal Rescue Foundation's foster program, Abby and Ellie have been cherished by humans since the moment they entered the world. Their mom, Gigi, was rescued off the streets of Bristol just in time to give birth in a safe, caring environment. Gigi and their other siblings have already found homes, leaving Abby and Ellie hoping to find theirs too.
What They Love:
Playing: String toys are their absolute favorite!
Cuddling: Whether it's with each other or with you, these girls love to snuggle.
Making Friends: They get along great with other cats and are super friendly.
A Note on FIV: Abby and Ellie's mom, Gigi, tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). While this might sound scary, it's really not a big deal for indoor cats who live peacefully with other cats, it just means that they have a reduced immune system compared to cats who do not have FIV. There's a small chance (about 25%) that Abby and/or Ellie might have inherited FIV from their mom. We can't test them definitively until they're about six months old because the antibodies they received from their mom could cause a false positive now.
FIV is not easily transmitted. It's passed through deep bite wounds during serious cat fights or from mother to kitten, but not through casual cat to cat contact or grooming. So, as long as all the cats get along, there's no risk to other cats in your home. FIV also doesn't affect humans or other animals like dogs.
Why Theyre Special: These two sweethearts are not just kittens; they're bundles of joy and affection. They're the kind of companions who will greet you with purrs and cuddles, making every day brighter. Their playful antics and loving nature are sure to bring lots of happiness to your home.

Some very important things you should know when applying: Our cats/kittens have been fully examined by a vet and are healthy and up to date on all shots/vaccinations. Adoption fees are $275 per kitten (even if you are adopting multiple kittens). For kittens, this fee also includes their future spay/neuter date which will be set up by us at the time they are mature enough (at approximately 5 months and will also receive their rabies vaccination and microchip at that time). Included in the cost of the adoption fee, along with their spay/neuter, we test for FIV/FeLV/Heartworm, fecal parasites, distemper and rabies vaccinations, and have a wellness check with our partner vets to ensure they are healthy and ready for adoption. The adoption fee also includes micro-chipping which will be completed at the time of spay/neuter.
Please note that our organizations long-time policy is that we do not adopt out our animals to households with children aged six or younger- we just dont know how our individual animals will react around young children who are still learning what it means to respect an animals boundaries and unfortunately, past experience has proven its a higher risk that a kitten or cat is returned to shelter because of this. We also do not adopt to out-of-state applicants other than towns bordering Connecticut or those not within a one and a half hour driving distance to our shelter. We also do not do same day adoptions- please expect to have at least 2 visits as part of the adoption process at our shelter- its important to us that we are properly matching animals to adopters and preparing our adopters for their special adoption day and all our ducks (or should we say cats?) are in a row. Sorry, no exceptions.
Specifically, if you are looking to adopt Kitten(s): We are only accepting applications for kittens adopted IN PAIRS (or, singly, if you already have a young friendly cat or kitten of similar age at home for them to bond with). It's vital for proper cat behavioral development that kittens have a friendly fellow kitten or young and active cat playmate at home they can grow and learn from. All applications looking to adopt multiple kittens from the same litter will be given priority consideration over single kitten applications as we would love to see siblings stick together whenever possible.
Happily, we expect our volunteers to receive an overwhelming response of applications for our kittens. Unfortunately, if your application is incomplete, we will not be able to consider it. For all applicants: Please double check your application for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting it to us. Please be as thorough as possible when answering application questions as the more you elaborate, the more information we have to consider, the more likely we are to have a full picture of the care, support, and love our cats/kittens will receive for their adopted lifetime and your particular application will be at the top of our mind when placing cats/kittens in their chosen forever homes. You can learn about each cat/kitten and complete an application at ARFCT.org and submit it to our email at
[email protected] for consideration. Thank you!
