My Story

Elf on the Shelf was just a tiny baby kitten when we rescued him on December 7th. He had been born outside to a stray momma cat, and was suffering frostbite when we trapped him. He has been here for 7 months, and we can't believe that he hasn't been snatched up yet! He is the most charming young boy, loves to play and gets the zoomies throughout the house. His gorgeous grey, silver and white tabby coat is mesmerizing, you will love admiring it in purr-son. He has a really funny quirky personality. As a feral kitten, I wasn't surprised that he instinctively hissed at humans initially, but most kittens get over that pretty quickly once they realize people are the source of food and affection. It took no time for him to warm up to us and accept love, but he would still fiercely hiss when startled. It is quite hilarious to observe, because he will open his mouth and hiss, then leave his mouth open when you reach to rub him, then he starts to purr deeply. We joke that he's a sweet boy, just curses like a sailor! LOL He needs an indoor home, and he must go to a home with another cat to keep him company. He could get adopted with his shy gal-pal, Emily Lickinson, who has been with his since she was rescued in February. Elf on the Shelf has been fully treated for all parasites, including fleas, ticks, roundworm tapeworm, coccidia and ear mites. He has been a very healthy boy for several months now, but people who come to meet adoptable kittens kept choosing younger kittens ? Elf has been tested for Feline Leukemia (and his mother cat was combo tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV). He had all 3 sets of kitten booster vaccines, including FVRCP, Feline Leukemia and Rabies. He has been neutered. He has a microchip for purr-manent identification. When he is adopted, the rescue will provide a free trial of 6 week of Pet Health Insurance. The adoption fee is $350, which we will put towards rescuing the next kitten off the streets. Call Sonya at 902-469-MEOW (that's 902-469-6369 on the dialpad) to discuss the adoption process. Healing Animal SCARS is not a shelter, rather a foster-based rescue network that has been rescuing since 2006. We trap feral, scared, shy, skittish kitties that wouldn't do well in a traditional shelter. Look us up on Facebook to follow our adventures in rescue.
