Anyone who’s familiar with the Winnie the Pooh stories knows Eeyore, the donkey who looks on the negative side of life. I’m not sad at all, but I was nervous when I arrived. Many animals are! It’s frightening to be in a strange place! I’m a grey tabby adult male called Eeyore. I was found out on my own near Leashes and Leads. Even though Eeyore could be very down and out much of the time, he once said, “It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine.” I love being petted, especially on my head and ears. Purr-fect! Even though I had only just arrived, I was interested in playing. It makes the sunshine even brighter! And I know I’ll add warmth and sunshine to someone’s life, so I hope you’ll come meet me. Even that woebegone ol’ donkey appreciated kindness, and I’m happy and thankful for the attention and care, so I’ll quote my glum namesake once again: “Thanks for noticin’ me.” - Eeyore.
