Eclipse

Meet Eclipse. This adorable and social fellow was transferred to our shelter back in MAY from a shelter in Florida! After traveling by plane and van, Eclipse has been treated for ongoing skin issues and is finally available for adoption. He is so excited he can hardly stay in his enclosure. . His primary problems have been excessive grooming, skin wounds, flakiness and dandruff, and infections. We do, however, expect that Eclipse will need lifelong treatment of his skin. For this reason, if the adopter is interested, they are approved to be VBSPCA clinic patient for life regardless of income. Eclipse is on a special diet - Purina Pro Plan HA and will need to continue this diet only. Don't listen to his begging, he cannot get wet food or treats while on this diet. He has previously been on medicated baths which helped as well. He has been given steroid shots, which is not recommended for long term use. Eclipse will also need to stay on a veterinarian prescribed flea and tick preventative. He is currently using Bravecto, which lasts 3 months. Despite all this, Eclipse has not lost his happy go lucky personality. Nothing seems to phase this boy. We don't know how he is with other animals, so we recommend a slow introduction to any new animal friends.
