My Story

Dr. Gloria Leopard, DVM, from the Cats Only Veterinary Clinic in Norman, OK recently rescued 4 purebreed British Shorthair males from the California Humane Society. Since they have been with us, they have each been examined, neutered, vaccinated, bathed, and received dentals. They are all extremely gentle and loving! Whoever gives them new homes will certainly be so lucky to have them as a part of their family. They each love lots of affection and to give affection, but they are well-behaved, quiet, and do not cry when left to themselves. Although they get along well together, it is not a requirement to adopt more than one per home. They appear to get along well with each of the many other cats at the clinic, and despite all they have been through lately, seem to have adjusted very well to their new environment and friends. They are between the ages of 4-8 years. There is a contract the new adopter will need to review and sign through the Cats Only Clinic, and the new owner will have to agree to keep Doughboy on his heart medication, because although he is asymptomatic he does have moderate-severe hypatrophic cardiomyopathy. There is one white male, two orange/white males, and one grey/white male. Dr. Leopard wrote of "Doughboy": Doughboy is male neutered BSH about 6-7 years old. He is FeLV/FIV tested, vaccinated, clean teeth, good health, however has moderate to severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He is asymptomatic and runs around and plays like a kitten. He is on once daily Enalapril and new owner must agree to continue his medication. May also need aspirin therapy to prevent further complication of HCM. Loves to be petted and especially belly rubbing, he is very affectionate. You can also call Lyndsay Allison with Pets4Adoption, Norman, OK at (918)691-6231(cell #) or email her at [email protected] if you have any other questions about these kitties or any of the many other rescued dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens available for adoption or to foster through the Pets4Adoption Animal Rescue and Foster Organization. (*) The $100 adoption fee for these cats is the standard fee to adopt a cat through the Cats Only Clinic to help offset the costs of vaccinating, spaying/neutering, treating, and caring for each rescued cat. If a kitten is adopted that is too young to be fixed at the time of adoption, the fee covers the procedure to be done when they are of age. If for some reason things do not work out with an adopted cat, the new owners have two weeks (14 days) to receive a refund of the adoption fee. Please keep in mind that the adoption fees, rules, requirements, and circumstances listed above are unique to the Cats Only Clinic and may be different regarding the adoptions of other rescued animals through Pets4Adoption. Those with questions or concerns are urged to contact Lyndsay, Pets4Adoption Founder & Coordinator at (918)691-6231.
