My Story

Interesting Stuff About DIPPY:
The only thing dippy about DIPPY is that this big boy is a bit like the lion in the 'Wizard of Oz'. He doesn't seem to have much courage! A bit peculiar because Dippy is not a petite cat. He's a muscular 18 pounds but he just doesn't seem to realize that his size and physique are a bit intimidating meaning threats would be far and few between. Despite his lack of courage, he trusts people. He will seek people out to find comfort from the scary world. Once his fears subside, he turns into a big 'love bug'. He responds to affection by purring and purring and purring. A volunteer at CAT described him as a "big purring machine". For his size, he's very gentle. You can roll him over to scratch his belly and he won't fuss. Dippy is really a delightful cat that makes a great companion.

Dippy had a home with someone that loved him deeply for over seven years; however, things changed and his adopter could no longer care for him. She described him as being affectionate, playful, lap cat (an 18 pound lap cat will certainly keep you warm!), mellow, likes to be held, and seems to be fine with male cats. Dippy does not care for dogs nor is he a big fan of small children. He would do best in a home with adults only or in a home where there are older children.

Dippy is listed as an orange and white short-haired cat; however, he strongly resembles a 'Flame Point Siamese'. According to Wikipedia, "A Flame Point Siamese is the term applied by nonbreeders to a cat that has Siamese ancestry but sports "points" or colors on ears, paws and tail of an orange/apricot color. In America these cats are referred to not as Siamese, but as Red ‘Oriental Short haired color points".” As you can see from his pictures he has the coloring plus the points one would typically see in a Flame Point. He also has the most awesome deep blue eyes! He is absolutely beautiful.

The shelter is a scary place for Dippy so the sooner he finds a home the better as far as he is concerned. Don't wait another moment; take him out of this scary place and into a home where he can feel safe and loved. In return you will have a very loving and devoted cat. Come to the CAT Shelter in Sherwood and get to know him.
