My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Curio is a delightful and adventurous kitten who came to us when her momma brought her to us. This little explorer was the first in her litter to discover the joys of cat food and the first to climb out of the box. True to her name, Curio is incredibly curious and loves to be the center of attention. Curio isn't too keen on sharing her food and can sometimes growl at her siblings when it comes to mealtime. She can also be a bit possessive with her toys. Because of her playful and active nature, Curio would thrive in a home with another young cat to keep her company or with someone who can dedicate plenty of time to play with her. She plays with anything that moves, even packing peanuts! Despite her playful energy, Curio loves to cuddle in bed with her humans and her siblings. While she's not a huge fan of being held-there are just too many things to do!-she's always ready for a good play session or a nap. She sometimes eats like a little piggy, balancing her days between playing, sleeping, and eating. Are you ready to welcome this curious and spirited kitten into your home? Curio is from a stray surrender with 2 sisters. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start's adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats' emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of "Single Kitten Syndrome" (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten's most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
