My Story

*** Cookie is in a foster home. *** Gray/peach dilute tortoiseshell, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 5/25/22, #19125 Cats: best solo, can co-exist Dogs: unknown Children: older respectful kids Cookie showed up at the house of someone who started feeding her but couldn't keep her because of her cat-unfriendly dogs. She took her to SDHS to get shots and found out that Cookie was already spayed. Since Cookie really wanted to come inside and live with people, her benefactor contacted The Rescue House. You'll notice a common word in this story: LOVE. It's all about love, because Cookie loves, loves, LOVES people! She is an outgoing girl who will always say "hi". If anyone lies down, Cookie will climb on their chest and gave lovingly into their eyes. She loves to sleep next to a human. Even though Cookie isn't really keen on being picked up, it will hardly matter with all the petting and loving on her that she is extremely keen about! Cookie plays occasionally (she likes wand toys and an automated peek-a-boo toy) though isn't an overly energetic kitty; she saves her full enthusiasm for interactions with you. While Cookie is okay to be left alone for several hours, once it gets too much longer than that she'll start crying for company. She needs a companion (preferably more than one) to love and snuggle with. If she isn't cuddling next to a human, then Cookie can often be found sitting on a bed or similar-height spot to look out the window. Cookie is human-focused more than anything. She will usually tolerate other cats after a proper introduction if they leave her alone, though has done better thus far with males over females. We don't know her thoughts on dogs as the ones with her rescuer were not an option to try introductions. She has been great with respectful older kids, though since she can occasionally get a bit excited and give a firm love nip we don't recommend younger children who wouldn't understand. She needs people who will be around a lot and don't mind giving a cat plenty of attention! Will you fall in love with Cookie?
