Cleo

MEET CLEO (and check out her adorable paws )!! Cleo has been with me for over a year and is truly one of the sweetest cats you will ever meet. She was very shy when she was first trapped but, while at the spay/neuter clinic, she started showing her sweet self so I decided to take her home and give her a chance. She first went into my garage, where she proceeded to hide for an entire month. Although she would come out to eat, I started thinking she might be happier if I released her. I had to trap her again to get her contained and took her back to the clinic, planning to get her ear tipped and then release her. However, once again, while contained, she was super sweet and I knew I couldn't release her back outside . I took her home again and crated her for a couple weeks to help gain her trust. She made quick progress in the crate so I moved her to the guest room, where a few other foster cats were also residing. She was fine with the other cats and, although she spent the first few weeks hiding under the bed, she slowly started venturing out and becoming more relaxed. Over the next few months she became more and more comfortable and became super affectionate, climbing on my lap for pets and love. After about six months she finally graduated from the guest room to general population (although she still loves to hang out in the guest room). She has a very submissive nature and can sometimes get overwhelmed by all the other cats but her reaction is just to run away. She is also fine with the resident dog (who basically just ignores the cats). This sweetheart craves affection and would thrive in a quieter environment with a couple of furry friends. Cleo's ideal family would be devoted, able to spend quality time with her and shower her with love (and treats!). I love this beautiful and gentle girl so very much but I know she would be happier in a home with a family who could give her more time and attention.
