Claire (Empty-Nester) (Photos 7/21/2024)

Claire is a beautiful 2-year old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on May 2, 2024 along with her three one-week old kittens (Alvin, Theodore and Simon) after they were found in the Fleming Ohio area. Claire has a gray/silver tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and a pretty face with green/gold eyes, a pink/gray nose, a dusting of white on her muzzle, and long white whiskers. This lovely kitty was a wonderful mother to her babies and raised three happy, playful boys in a small shelter cage. Claire and her kittens were separated in late July 2024 after the kittens were weaned, and they are now in adjacent towers in the lobby of our shelter. Momma Claire still keeps a watchful eyes on her boys while they spend their days playing frivolous kitten games (smile). Claire was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on May 8, 2024. She was given booster vaccines on May 25, 2024. Claire is a petite little lady who weighs perhaps 7 lbs. These photos of Claire were taken on July 21, 2024 when HSOV Volunteer Jennie Payton Sherrard assisted Claire with her 'glamour photos'. Claire decided rather quickly that she would prefer to spend her out-of-tower time exploring new territory and reaching new heights instead of posing for boring still-life pictures. This inquisitive little momma made a few laps around the 'studio' before pussyfooting/leaping atop the wall cabinets where she had a bird's eye view of the room. As it turned out, those photos were much more interesting than the ones we managed to take on the red carpet background. So momma knew best .. And she stayed atop the cabinets in a supervisory role while her three little boys had their photos taken. Claire will be spayed in the near future (tentatively on August 20th 2024) and will soon be ready to find a loving home of her very own.
