My Story

Meet Cinnamon! Cinnamon is an adorable elderly lovebug with lots of life left to live. Cinnamon is a dignified ginger tabby with delicate long legs and a beautiful circular pattern on her side. Female ginger tabbies are quite rare, so besides her snugly personality, little lioness Cinnamon is a real catch! After a tough go of it in recent years, Cinnamon would love a soft chair or bed to curl up on and feel safe and comfortable for her remaining years. Cinnamon was originally rescued as a young stray cat on the terrace of a local restaurant, where her owners found her in 2008 and brought her home. Life was fine for some years, until 2018, when her owners got a dog who liked to chase Cinnamon. Cinnamon was very frightened of the new dog and as such, was moved by her family of ten years to live in their workshop. She has lived in this workshop (and outside) for 6 years without anyone really looking out for her, searching among the machines and sawdust for a soft place to take a nap. Faced with recent health issues, Cinnamon’s owners decided they could not care for her anymore and Cinnamon deserved better than what they had provided her until then. Now, beautiful Cinnamon is looking for a soft place to land and live out her glory years. Although Cinnamon has had a tough life in recent years, you would never know it by how snugly and affectionate she is. Cinnamon can be a little shy and wary of new people or new places, but once she’s checked you out and determined you’re OK, she warms up quickly and then loves to be pet and get attention. Cinnamon is an independent gal who loves to explore and find little hidey holes to check out, and would especially love a window seat where she can bask in the sun and survey her kingdom. However, she also loves to be around people and will happily sit next to or on your lap, or lie down next to you in bed. She has no problem bumping your hand when she wants more pets! Cinnamon is a vocal kitty, and will meow for your attention and purr loudly when she’s being pet or is feeling happy. She also loves a good rug or blanket for rolling around on, and she’ll even let you pet her on the tummy and paws. Having not had a real bed for a number of years, she treasures any opportunity to sit on something soft and comfy. Cinnamon is approximately 16-17 years old. Although she is a senior lady, she is still very active and has lots of energy - proving that age is just a number! While seniors are often overlooked, adopting a senior cat - particularly one who has had a tough life like Cinnamon - is extremely rewarding. And senior cats like Cinnamon are always so grateful for a soft place to sleep and a family who will give her the love she has always deserved. Cinnamon is spayed, felv/fiv free, scheduled for updated vaccines in the coming days, and has no known serious health issues. She does have some tooth decay, which is relatively common for a cat her age. While Cinnamon may prefer to be the only pet, a calm, older dog may work well for her, as would calm, older children. IMPORTANT: Saving Belladonna is primarily located in Connecticut. However, we also have volunteers in other areas, which is how Cinnamon came to us! Cinnamon is currently located in Lake County, but we can deliver her as far away as San Francisco and Mendocino.
