My Story

Cinnamon is a red tabby Exotic Shorthaired Persian, called a Zot, for short. She is an extremely special kitty and will require an extremely special adopter to wrest her from the loving arms of her foster mom.

Cinnamon came into rescue after being found as a stray wandering on the streets all alone. Who could look at this adorable face and not want to take her in to warmth and safety? We certainly could not.

Once Cinnamon was placed into a foster home, it became apparent that she had some serious emotional issues in regards to humans. Her foster mom believes that someone in the past has beaten or threatened her with a club or a stick, because Cinnamon is deathly afraid of anything with an appearance of a stick. We can't really say for sure what happened to this little darling, but whatever it was, was enough to leave deep emotional scars.

When Cinnamon first came to her foster mom, nearly one year ago, she hid for many weeks. Eventually, she began to come out to eat with her foster mom present in the room and after several months allowed herself to be touched. She is still frightened of strangers, doesn't like other cats and is very skiddish around dogs.

Whoever adopts Cinnamon will have to be a very experienced adopter who has dealt with abused cats in the past and must have the patience to allow Cinnamon to come to them on her own terms.

She loves to be groomed on every part of her body and will lay down and hoist her back legs into the air so her foster mom can comb them out. There is no place on her body that she won't allow her foster mom to touch, she lays down and rolls around for petting sessions and has a purr motor that can't be beat.

Once, Cinnamon trusts, she trusts completely, but it will probably take a very long time to achieve this relationship with her. But once the bond is made, it will be more than worth it to her new best friend forever.

She would probably be best in a home with a single person or a very quiet couple, no children and no other pets. Whoever adopts Cinnamon must be committed to never having any other pets and take that very seriously, it simply will not work out.

Cinnamon has two extremes to her, extreme fear and anxiety and complete love and trust once earned. Earning her trust has been one of the most rewarding experiences her foster mom has ever had, but it is heartbreaking to know that anyone could traumatize an animal to this degree.

Cinnamon is one of the cutest kitties ever and her love knows no bounds when she gives herself to you. She is worth every minute it takes. Are you that special someone that is Cinnamon's perfect match? Call us and talk to us about Cinnamon, she's very deserving of love and will love you fiercely in return.
