Cicada

Cicada’s foster mom says… Cicada arrived when I needed a friend for Cricket. He came from the streets of Philly, so he was used to pooping on concrete so litter box training was interesting. No accidents for last 6 weeks! He would run at the sight of me but he was awful at hiding. He is quick and would literally jump over me to avoid being touched. Once I was able to corner him or hold him, after literally 3 pets, he’d be purring. I knew he loved being loved but he didn’t want to admit it… After being contained in our smaller room, he started building confidence. He is incredibly food motivated. He’ll stand up on two legs and grab your hand for treats. He never growled, hissed, swatted, or meowed with me. He’s a quiet boy (despite the bug being loud) I finally heard him chirp when in the carrier in the car twice. He’s the awkward cat that doesn’t know how to cat, for lack of better words. When I’d have a wand out, he’d go after the stick, not the toy. If I tossed a toy, he’d watch it, confused. He loves to tumble with Cricket, and his absolute favorite toy is the tiered toy with balls the spin around. He loves anything with feathers too. Now, when I enter the room, he greets me and will weave between my feet. He loves attention and cuddles, but when he’s had enough, he’ll simply walk away. He’ll sit down from afar, look at you, and continue purring. Cicada is such a sweet boy, and I know he’s going to be an amazing companion. He’s so innocent and gentle!
