Charles is an 8 year old orange tabby. He is sterilized, dewormed, vaccinated and vet checked.
Charles lived his whole life in one house as an indoor cat. His family adopted 2 other males and 1 other female cat, Lily, who is listed for adoption separately. Charles was traumatized as a kitten, dropped from the second floor to he first floor, and also was grabbed from under a couch to have his claws clipped. After these two incidents, he's feared men, and has been cautious and sensitive in general. Charles was surrendered because he was very fearful toward his male owner, and Lily was surrendered because she was bullied by the family's other two male cats. In foster, it turns out that Lily is also quite afraid of Charles, so she's not going with him to the same adopter. The family was moving and felt that 4 cats were too many, so they surrendered Charles and Lily hoping that they would have better quality of life.
Charles is being fostered by a woman in a quiet home, and he is thriving. He is a bit cautious for the first few minutes around visitors, but comes out and wants attention soon after. Usually, Charles lies near you on furniture and purrs and wants pets. He just needs a human that works from home or hybrid, and a quiet, peaceful environment, with at least one female human in the home. It's also important to handle him gently and with care when it's time to clip his claws or take him to the vet. He is a very sweet and sensitive boy.
Charles would be ok with other cats, but not with dogs or children, as he requires a calm environment.
He has allergies, as can be typical with orange males, and needs to be kept on an exclusive diet of Nutrience hydrolyzed protein food to make sure he doesn't develop itchiness and bald spots. He may also require vet attention in the future if his allergies worsen, to be placed on a regular medication for allergies in addition to the diet.
Charles has led a difficult life, and is so excited to find a home where he can live stress free and happy!
