Our rescues mean a lot to the vet staff and DunRoamin' volunteers. We do everything we can to find the perfect homes for these pets, who are being given a second chance at a happy life. Candy came to us on December 22, 2023 from Bannon where she was part of a colony of cats that was growing unchecked. She became part of our low-income spay/neuter program, but there was no place for her to go after she was spayed, other than back to the life of a stray cat, and that's not safe, especially after having had major surgery and a shaved belly. Our recent cold temperatures and rain would make it very likely that she would become sick and/or injured, so her only option was to be DunRoamin'. We are happy to make her Christmas a happy, safe and warm one. Candy was born about December 14, 2021 and came to us with her friend Cane who was also part of the colony. They appear to be attached to each other. Although they are not sisters, they are probably related. They are both now fed and purring in their warm beds where they will recover from their spays, be tested for FIV and FeLV, fully vaccinated and treated for all parasites. It's going to be a good Christmas for them - their first. Merry Christmas, Candy!
