My Story

*** Cafesoso is at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego. *** Brown/gray & white Siamese/tabby mix, short hair, neut. male, born approx. 2/19/22, #19265 Cats: unconcerned Dogs: unknown, probably not Children: likely fine Cafesoso came from an agricultural area near Ensenada. He showed up one day in the yard of a Good Samaritan who feeds a colony of cat and gets anyone spayed and neutered who needs it. Shortly after he showed up, Cafesoso was attacked by some dogs and his benefactor took him to her vet for treatment of wounds on his paws. He was such a good boy that neither of them wanted to send him back to where he came from, and the veterinarian reached out to a local rescue and boarded him in the meantime. Now he has come to San Diego where there are more adoption opportunities for him to find a happy and loving home! Cafesoso is an extremely loving and mellow kitty with a fascinating color scheme going on in his fur: depending on the light, his non-white parts can appear silvery gray or a light brown! This people-oriented guy will greet you when you arrive, making eye contact and getting up to say hello and follow you as you get settled in the hopes that you'll be able to pet him soon. Yet while he's right there and ready, Cafesoso isn't obnoxious in his requests for attention. He's chill. He enjoys full body pets, can be easily held (though upside down will make him wiggle), and overall is an easygoing fellow. Cafesoso doesn't seem concerned by other cats, though he can be a bit overly sniff-their-butt when meeting new male cats, which they may not appreciate. He's had some bad experiences in the past, but we don't truly know Cafesoso's thoughts on dogs. Given his personality, he would likely be fine with gentle children. Will this wonderful boy find a relaxing and happy home with you? While healthy, Cafesoso has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat's immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. A good informative website is FIVCats.com.
