My Story

To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston All about Boots from her foster home! Boots is a gem of a cat who wants nothing more in life than to be by your side! Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes! She's loves being pet! If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? All over, but she especially loves chin scratches. She will give you kisses too! Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? She doesn't like getting her nails clipped. Does the cat come on your lap? Not exactly. She's more of a lean against you affectionately kind of girl. Does the cat like to be held? She tolerates being picked up with no issue. She's incredibly easy to put in a carrier. I think she prefers to be next to you/leaning against you than to be wrapped up your arms but she tolerates it like a champ. She's really very agreeable. Does the cat sleep in your bed? Yes! That is her preferred mode of sleeping so will need to be allowed to sleep in you bed too. She's a great bed buddy and sits quietly throughout the night. Does the cat seek your attention? Most definitely. Because there are resident cats in her Foster home, Boots is being fostered in a separate room. She will meow for attention if she gets lonely. If you are in the room with her, she will come over to where you are and settle in beside you. Does the cat like to play? She really likes catnip toys. She likes to paw at your pen while you write. She has a feather toy that wobbles and pops back up that she likes. And she likes a particular wand toy that she can take to her new home with her. How vocal is the cat? She is a vocal gal who lets you know she wants your attention. She has kind of a loud raspy meow. What kinds of sounds does the cat make? She meows and purrs. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes. Does the cat always use the litter box? Always, never any issues. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? Never. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? Never. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Very social - she LOVES humans. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren't covered by the previous questions? She sleeps sometimes with her face down in the blankets in the "faceplant" position. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? She is just the sweetest, most easygoing girl. She'll be a loyal companion and a great WFH buddy. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? She absolutely doesn't get along with cats or dogs. We tried on multiple occasions to introduce her to our resident cats and each time it was a failure. Therefore, we had to keep her in a separate room, which is not ideal since she is so social with people. We know Boots will be so much happier in a home with no other pets and person of her own. Boots has hyperthyroidism and gets medication rubbed into her inner ear 2x per day. She's a great patient and makes the process a breeze.
