My Story

BLACKIE's Meet Your Match Feline-alityTM is PERSONAL ASSISTANT (Orange)

You're working on the computer? Let me press the keys. Reading the paper? I'll hold the pages down for you. Watching TV? I'll just plop on your lap so you can pet me. I love an orderly household, don't you? I'll help you with all your chores, and I'll help you relax when we're done. You'll wonder how you ever managed without me.

Interesting Stuff About BLACKIE:
BLACKIE is a very people-oriented guy who loves to be petted and has a big purr motor that pretty much never stops. He's a very mellow, sweet, lover boy. He likes head scratching and rubbing against your legs, but he's not too comfortable being picked up (you might not be too comfortable doing the picking up either since this friendly guy weighs in around 18 pounds). He does like to jump into your lap though. How big is your lap, anyway? He was rescued and kept by his rescuers until they couldn't keep him any longer. They liked him VERY much, though, and left a note in his file with his preferences.

  • - "Blackie doesn't like to eat out of a bowl; he prefers a flat plate."
  • - "His favorite dry food is Friskies fish flavor. His favorite wet food is also Friskies with beef in gravy, turkey and cheese in gravy, chicken and tuna, or chicken in gravy."
  • It's pretty obvious this guy got catered to in the meals department. He just wants to be sure you know he's "sturdy", not fat. His rescuers suggested he'd do best in a quiet, adults only home and said he gets along with other cats. They urged CAT to "find him a good home". We're thinking that would be your home.....what do you think?

Update: Blackie felt extremely lucky to get adopted after being at the shelter for only a couple of months; however, the adoption unfortunately did not last. His adopter was injured and is now unable to care for him. With great sadness he was brought back to the shelter where it is hoped that he will be lucky a second time. Blackie deserves a place where he can be loved and in return he will love unconditionally. They just don't get any sweeter than this big love.
