My Story

Billie is a 4-paw declawed cat that was found abandoned, literally starving (due to a severely overactive thyroid) and freezing outdoors! She has endured everything from being put out on the streets to fend for and defend herself without any claws, to almost losing her life due to the affects that the untreated thyroid was having on her body. Billie has a “never-give-up” attitude and has successfully undergone a risky surgery to remove her thyroid on Dec. 11, 2008 when she weighed a mere 4 pounds. She is approximately 9 years old and now weighs 7 1/2 pounds! Due to an allergic reaction to some of the medications, this poor girl has lost some of her fur from her shoulders up…hasn’t she gone through enough??? She is now well on the road to recovery, but needs someone to care for, love her and give her a forever home. Billie has pulled through some difficult times and is now thriving in the 4 months since her rescue. She will continue to get stronger when someone special gives her that chance to be loved…won’t you consider being that special someone?. In spite of the numerous, recent trying times, she is a gentle, loving, sweet girl who enjoys showing her love back to you with lots of kisses to your hands and face. Recently, the Vet asked Billie to stop purring so loudly so that she could hear her heart beat…She truly is a miracle! Please call860-335-0033 if you are interested in meeting this wonderful, lovable kitty.
