Happy Summer! Kitten Season is in full swing again and we need to make room to get Moms and kittens (and older kitties too!) so we can get them fixed and find them homes! Please consider adopting- especially some of our older residents! Remember you save TWO cats lives and make countless more cats & kittens lives better by adopting! Big Mac is domestic short haired black & white tuxedo spayed female, up to date on her shots, around 1 year old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Highland Northwest Indiana. My name might be BigMac, but I'm more of a little cheeseburger. I'm a petite little girl even though I grew up eating Big Macs, French fries and fillet of fishes. Before the shelter, I was living outside around a fast food restaurant when some nice people noticed me looking for food in the parking lot. Back then I would eat whatever I could find! I was always hungry! These people started feeding me and realized I needed help because it was getting cold. They got me to the shelter and I was soooo thankful to be inside! I'm warm with a full belly of yummy kitty food. I was a little afraid when I got to the shelter, but not like I was outside, I know I'm safe and love people! So hopefully I'll be getting my forever home soon! I don't need much, just a soft spot to lay, some food and lots of love! I want a home so much! I'm waiting for a person who can give me that! You might need to be someone with a little patience so I can adjust to having a home but it won't take long because I love pets! And to play! I know I'm not a kitten anymore but I still have lots of kitten in me. I still want love and affection too! I can't wait until I find my forever home! I have lots of love to give to someone who wants it. I hope you'll consider me! I'm ready and waiting, so please make an appointment to come and see me at the shelter! I have my own "room" there and we can visit! if you have another kitty (especially a younger kitty to play with) we should be able to get along (with the proper introduction period). Our fosters & volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to get them used to being pet and to show them no one will hurt them. However, when they go to a new home, some kitties will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months.
