My Story

BENNY's (aka TRAVIS) Meet Your Match Feline-alityTM is LEADER OF THE BAND (Green)

I'm a cat who does everything in a big way. I not only like to be in the middle of things - I like to lead the parade. I'm an adventurous cat, but I'll still make plenty of time to show you my affectionate side. I'm the demonstrative type, you might say. Want a cat who's brimming with confidence? That's me.

Interesting Stuff About BENNY:
BENNY (aka Travis) is a whole lot of a cat. It's not hard to miss this bright orange cat because he's about twice as big as the average cat. Many times cats this size have a little less energy but that is certainly not the case with Benny. He doesn't realize he's a big boy and seems to have no issues moving around. He can easily find his way to the top of a ledge and just as easily find his way to your lap. He's also quite a curious cat and maybe just a tad nosy. It's not unusual to see him standing on his hind legs as he tries to get a glimpse of what is going on or as he is simply trying to discover things above his line of sight. Some say he is "playing gopher" but others think that he is just a very curious fellow.

Benny is not only unique because of his presence, he has a unique appearance. You see, Benny's tail is a stub that looks much like a bunny's cotton tail. There is no history to explain why he was gifted with a cute bunny tail which now will forever be a mystery. His tail does add to his appeal. He is already gorgeous with his vibrant orange coloring and golden eyes.

Benny lived with a loving owner for a couple of years but was unfortunately returned to the shelter when his owner moved into an assisted living home. Much to the chagrin of all, the home would not allow cats. We were told by his owner's relative that while Benny was part of the home he was a "great cat", has the perfect temperament for a Senior and would most likely do very well with children. He is affectionate, extremely personable, and likes to cuddle up in laps (this big boy makes a terrific lap warmer!), We were also told that he has a calming personality and at times you will find him calmly following you around to be petted.

Since Benny has been back at the shelter he seems to tolerate other cats quite well. In fact, he will often roll around to signal a nearby cat that it is playtime. Benny is quite agile despite his size and his mannerisms don't seem to pose a threat to the other felines in the area. He actually seems to be well liked by his own kind!

Benny really does enjoy attention and he is sure to blossom in his next home. Can that home be yours?
