My Story

Baxter is a handsome orange and white boy that is a true survivor. The poor guy has been through so much and he is only around 2 years old. He spent so much time outside during the winter that he got frostbite on his ears, which caused the tip of them to fall off. His paws are also dry and cracked from wondering around in the snow for such a long period of time. Once he was safely indoors and being properly cared for, you would think his troubles were over, but he was then faced with a long recovery from a bad cold. He is now on his second round of antibiotics and is improving greatly, it is hopeful that he will be fully recovered by the first week of April.

Even though he has endured so much, Baxter is a well-behaved and well-manned kitty. He is perfectly happy curling up next to you on the couch and taking a nap. If he is not right next to you then he can be found in his favorite spot, sitting on a towel in the bathroom. He enjoys exploring his surroundings but he always ends up returning to his favorite spot, which makes it easy to find him.

He is also a bit of a talker when he is first introduced to a new situation. Once he gets comfortable with his surroundings though, he quiets down a lot.

He also gets along with a dog that knows how to respect him. It only took him 30 minutes to start head butting our dog and allowing her to sniff him. He also enjoys sneaking a few pieces of dog food out of the dogs bowl.

Since he is currently getting over a bad cold, he has not been allowed around other cats and we are unsure how he interacts with them at this time. Once he is over his cold and is in no danger of spreading germs to other cats, we will be able to evaluate his situation.

All of the adult cats fostered with Clear Creek Cat Rescue have been neutered or spayed, are current on all of their vaccines including rabies, and most are also microchipped.

CCCR provides a 10-day trial placement period during which time the adopted cat can be returned, for any reason, for a full refund.

We guarantee that when a cat rescued from the pound is adopted from CCCR, we will rescue another cat that is in jeopardy for its life. So when you adopt a cat from us, you are not only giving life to the cat you take home, but saving the life of another cat as well.
