My Story

Working cats live their entire lives outdoors, "working" for their upkeep by capturing mice and other vermin. These cats are also referred to as "barn cats" or "mousers." They are often "feral" (not acclimated to living with humans), and usually stay in barns and other rural structures. Owners of working cats provide shelter, food, water and basic vet care. Daily food, water and a short period of adjustment is all that is needed for these cats to acclimate to their new home. The cats are sterilized, ear tipped, and vaccinated for rabies. A minimum of two cats must be adopted at a time. Thank you for your consideration. If you're interested in adopting a barn cat, please fill out an application at: http://www.adoptwcac.org/FormCenter/Animal-Center-5/Working-Cat-Application-Form-56 You can email our Community Cat Coordinator, Cristina Hulsey, at [email protected] Or call her at 615-790-5590 Ext. 1063
