Hi, I'm Baby. My name suits me because I love to be cuddled and carried. Since I'm just a little thing, I won't even make your arms tired when you hold me. Sometimes, if I'm feeling energetic, I like jumping down from a cage on to an unsuspecting visitor's shoulders for a ride. Surprise! I’m there before they know what happened.
They say I've got a lot of personality. Well, of course I do, I'm Siamese! But I don’t have a loud voice like many Siamese cats. I've got a sweet little meow to match my petite size. I don't start a lot of conversations, but if you ask me what I'm doing, I will politely answer with a mew.
My best features are my incredibly soft fur and big, deep blue eyes. But I'm a down to earth girl so when people say how pretty I am, I don't let it go to my head. You won't get any attitude from me, just lots of love.
Am I curious and playful? Yes, but not in a rowdy way. I will gently tap a ball and watch it roll around. And I'm smart too. Here I am helping myself to some of Charlie’s food.
I've been at the shelter for a long time. I was adopted, had a home for a few years, then returned. That was two years ago. I'm getting depressed because no one wants me. Maybe no one wants to take a chance on me because I'm 13 years old.
Everyone at Animal Aid wants me to kick-back, relax and enjoy my senior years and would even consider a foster family. If you’re interested, please complete the
foster application. You never know, once we live together, we might decide to make it permanent.
BABY’S BLOG:
Congratulations to Prince! After far too many years at the shelter, he finally has the wonderful home that he has always deserved. I heard he's doing great and enjoys sleeping on the top of the cat tower. Prince passed his blog to Grayson and me, so we will keep you up to date on shelter gossip and everything that is happening in our lives. Stay tuned!
4/2/10 -- I thought we should start out the blog with a tour of the room where Grayson and I live. It just so happens that we were sitting on the same tower together. Actually, we've been doing that a lot lately. We toss around ideas for what we're going to say in our blog. Grayson is a pretty nice guy -- always mellow and friendly. A little later, I sat with one of my favorite volunteers. He's got a nice, comfy lap and he pets me gently. I wish he could stay all day.
4/7 -- We just heard from Prince in his new home. Check out his Happy Tails page. I am sooo excited for him. It gives me hope that one day it will be my turn to find the perfect family. I'll blog more on the weekend but I was so excited for Prince I had to share the news with you.
4/10 -- I'm lucky that I'm not a light sleeper because of all the activity that goes on at the shelter. Here is Cricket and me trying to take a nap. I don't know if Benny and Elsa thought there were snacks or if they just wanted to see what was going on, but they were stepping all over us! Benny and I often sleep near each other. We're both very affectionate cats, so even though there is a big age difference (he's only one and I'm 13), we have a lot in common. Later in the afternoon, a really nice visitor petted me. She has magic hands. Ahhhhh! I hope she comes back to see me soon. It would be so nice to have a home where someone would pet me a lot and there weren't other cats stepping on me! I hope it will happen one day.
4/17 -- They took some new photos of me today so you could see how cute I am. Do you like my big blue eyes? No, they didn't touch them up in PhotoShop. They really are that blue!
A really nice couple came to visit me last week. They may be interested in adopting me, but I don't want to get my hopes up. It's harder to think I'm going home and then for some reason I don't. Think positive thoughts for me. This could be it!
4/19 -- I went to the vet for a very important pre-adoption checkup and everything is ok! I could be going home this week. Really! I hate to say it out loud because I don't want to jinx it. I'll let you know as soon as I find out.
4/23 -- This is it. I'm going home today. Yes, today!! I'm going to be living with another kitty whose name is Angel. Is that great or what -- Angel and Baby -- sounds like we will be quite the pair.
I've been waiting so long that I had given up hope that anyone would ever want an old senior gal like me. I love my new parents!! Everyone at the shelter said such nice things about them too.
Bye to all the kitties who are waiting for homes. Good luck! Thanks to the caregivers who looked after me, and thanks to everyone for reading my blog.
Just one more thing before I leave. I would like to pass my blog on to Mitzi. Of course, Grayson will still continue blogging to find his new family.
Yayyy!!! I'm going home!!
With lots of love,
Baby
