I have a gorgeous coat — mostly tabico with a some tabby stripes. I am a bit shy around humans but I love other cats. I need a patient adopter who knows it will take me a little time to come out of my shell.
My foster describes me:
Incredibly curious, loves to be involved in whatever you're doing, but wants to watch rather than be picked up. Will be your BFF in exchange for treats.
Trills while she purrs. Loves other cats, treats of all kinds, and high spots on the cat tree. Loves to be brushed and petted, but on her terms.
Will follow you around and watch you but doesn't want to be picked up. Likes to be petted only when she's snuggled next to another cat. If someone wanted a gorgeous cat who would stalk them around the house while pretending to ignore them, but who would also be BFFs with any other cat they had, Ancho is their girl. Doesn't matter if the other cat bats at her or ignores her. She still follows them around and loves on them.
Ancho is a doll and will warm up with time, but may not ever be a true lap cat if that’s your jam. She *wants* to like people, but has insecurities. Maybe her perfect person and home will allow her to completely flourish.
More about Ancho:
Likes: I love having my hair brushed. My beauty routine includes the super soft kitty brush and a person with thumbs to brush me. I have RTF — resting torbie face like I’m judging you, but it worked out well for Grumpy Cat ; ) I take a little longer to warm up to people but once I decide you’re worth knowing then I’ll add you to my friends list.
Dislikes: Not having cat friends to play with — I must have a cat friend in the home. I haven’t met any dogs yet.

Unless noted to be ok as a single cat, it is a solid requirement to either have another kitten/cat in the home or adopt two kittens, preferably littermates, together.
We agree with the experts on cat companions, especially for kittens:

By the time of adoption:
All kittens/cats with Kudzu Cat Alliance have been combo tested for FIV/Felv, age appropriate vaccines, dewormer, spay/neuter, and microchip.
Adoption fees
Why we have them:
Most of our kittens come from a rough start in life and we invest a great deal of time, energy, physical effort, resources, and money getting them healthy and ready for a forever home. Our baseline investment per kitten/cat when they are totally healthy averages $150, though that can easily increase, depending upon health/medical issues, into hundreds or dollars. [We operate on donations; adoption fees help only to offset the cost of vet care. Everyone with Kudzu Cat Alliance is a volunteer.]
What they are:
Single adoptions (only if there is another kitten/cat already in the home, unless otherwise specified) -- kittens 12 months and under are $125; cats, over 12 months, are $100;
Pair adoptions -- kittens 12 months and under are $200; cats, over 12 months, are $150.
Donations:
If you want to help us continue saving these often overlooked lives we welcome and very greatly appreciate donations -- one time donations, regularly recurring donations, or donations in addition to adoption fees, and even sponsorship of kitten/cat care or adoption fees. To donate either text KUDZU to 44-321 or visit kudzu.link/ally or visit https://kudzucatalliance.org/support/
Is the kitten/cat in this profile available to adopt:
If you see a kitten/cat listed, the cat is available for inquiries and applications to be submitted.
