Amy

Love is patient. Love is kind. If you are both of these, then you could eventually have a tremendously loyal kitty. Amy is a little girl, very cute, but extremely wary. When she came to my house she did not leave her hidey spot for the first month. She would let me approach somewhat, but it was clear she wasn't ready for me to get very close. Somewhere around 6-8 weeks she felt comfortable enough to come over to me and let me pet her a little bit; it would have to be her idea. Now she comes running to me if I sit down on the sofa. She will sit in my lap or climb on me if I am laying down, but she also likes to flop next to me and have her belly petted. Amy is not interested in being carried. She might be a one-person cat. She will run if my adult son, who lives here, tries to get close to her. She's a little more friendly toward my adult daughter, who comes to visit. She can get close to Amy, but cannot touch her. I think she needs to be with a cat that she knows to help her transition to a new place. She often sleeps and plays with Penny.
