Alex was adopted as a kitten to a gal back in September 2007. Well, in the fall of 2009 I got a call from the ARL in Des Moines. The gal was moving and dumped Alex there even though he was supposed to be returned to us if she could not keep him. They were full of kitties and risked being put down. So my parents went to Des Moines, picked him up, and he came back to Waverly. The gal also said he had been peeing around her house for the last month. I knew this was a clear sign of urinary tract infection so took him to the vet right away. And yes, he did have a UTI, we got meds for him, and now he is all better. Would need to have him eat only food for UTI that creates less crystals in a cat so he doesn't get this again. The food is not that much more expensive than regular food. Anyway, Alex is up-to-date on shots and neutered.
Alex is 2-years-old now and just a love. He has grown into a large handsome boy! He is super friendly and very affectionate. He is also playful and fun to have around. He gets along well with all other cats.
Will someone please adopt Alex and give him a true forever home? $20.00 adoption fee. (we have had him since Jan 2010, lower cat adoption fee and a sponsor to cover part of the adoption fee so we can try and finally get him a real home)

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501 C 3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter yet. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to Email Waverly Pet Rescue at the bottom of this page. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each cat we take in. $150 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the kitty had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office. (Ear mite treatments $15, medicine for kitty cold and runny eyes $20, Distemper and rabies shots $25, Flea treatment $25, Spay / Neuter $65 - $120, etc, etc)
