My Story

Hi, my name is Akita. OK – I know, Akita is a breed of dog and I’m a cat, so I’m not sure of the connection – maybe my rescuer just liked the name! At any rate, I was found in the back yard of a vacant rental house in Sahuarita, and the people who found me weren’t sure how long I’d been stranded since they had been gone for three weeks. All I know is that I am mighty glad to be here at TALGV where I have a cool, safe place, and am getting lots of food, water, and best of all, attention. I am a pretty, orange/buff tabby girl who is in the neighborhood of two years old and weigh almost 8 pounds. When they did all the “intake” stuff on me (like checking my eyes, ears, temperature and heart rate), they had a bit of trouble with the heart because I was purring so loud! I guess that means that once I’m past the stress of having been abandoned, I’m going to be a “motor mouth” lap sitter of the first order. I’ll just bet that’s exactly what you’re looking for in a girl! 2-year-old, buff/orange tabby female Monday, June 28, 2010
