Chickie *special needs*

Chickie is a 3-5 year old presumed male green cheek conure that is looking for his forever home! Chickie’s owner health declined so they surrendered him to the rescue. The information they gave about chickie was vague, only that he was anywhere between 3-5 years old, likes to eat hamburgers and Chinese food (a terrible diet for a conure), and that at some point he broke his left wing and it was never fixed. We took chickie to our vet who did X-rays- this showed that he had several fractures in his left wing at one point, all which have healed. However because the wing was not fixed properly his wing bones have fused in abnormal positions. Chickie can glide a little bit he will never be able to fly. Chickie is a typical sassy conure and can be a bit nippy. He doesn’t really understand that hands are not chew toys. He will need an experienced adopter that can show him that being handled is not so scary. He has transitioned well to a regular diet of Mazuri/zupreme. He is gaining weight well. His favorite thing to do is dance to music! He is very silly.
